MUSICIAN | COMEDIAN | ACTOR
What do you get when you cross a Canadian, an agent, and a mandolin? It’s not the set up for a joke, but if it is, Christa Haberstock knows the punch line.
Since 1997, Christa Haberstock has blurred the line between ‘Talent’ and ‘Agent’ by living large on both sides of it at the same time.
On the ‘Agent’ side of the line, Christa manages, consults and represents a cadre of world-class Hall of Fame corporate talent at See Agency, the industry’s fastest growing speaker management outfit.
For 10 years as Vice President and Top Producer at a powerhouse speakers bureau, Christa booked over $1M of talent annually into corporate and association events.
In 2007, Christa became Vice President of Sales and Business Development at an established speaker management company, helping to dramatically increase revenue despite the economic downturn of 2008.
Since See Agency’s inception in 2009, Christa has dedicated herself to management, consultation and representation of the busiest professional keynote speakers and the finest corporate entertainment anywhere.
And on the ‘Talent’ side of the line?
Christa Haberstock is an accomplished Recording Artist, having written, performed and produced award-winning songs which received radio play in the US, Canada, and West Africa.
Her music has won international awards and earned critical acclaim “from people who know stuff”. Quite a feat on one of the most competitive stages in the world.
Christa is also a successful Improviser and Actor, co-founding Dallas’ premiere all-female improv comedy troupe, Heroine Addiction.
“I am completely devoid of angst so it’s shocking that I can actually be funny,” remarks the comedienne, referring to the dark cliché from which many comedians draw their humor.
She has also done time as a Stand-up Comedian, most recently invited to open for Caroline Rhea and Kevin Nealon. Formidable accomplishments in a difficult, dare we say ‘cut-throat’, business.
How does one describe Christa’s comedy? “I’ve been referred to as ‘a church lady with a possible case of Tourettes’.
My perspective on life is definitely ‘funny-ha-ha’ with a dash of ‘funny-strange’. The ‘Imperfect Christian Girl’ isn’t a shtick or a persona – I am who I am, on and off the stage. Zero apologies…sorry if that offends you.”
The desire and ability to perform at a high level seems to be in her blood. Her father was a media personality in Canada, working for CBC as he broadcast the news of Kennedy’s assassination.
Her two older brothers - one an Olympic skier - hit the stage as professional motivational speakers. And their mother? “Somebody has to be our biggest fan.”
The death of Christa’s father in 1995 served as a catalyst to launch her music career. Drawing from post-graduate studies in music, her love for performance, and years of directing choirs of unsuspecting children, college students, and full-grown adults, Christa began to write, record and perform across North America.
Her songs won awards, received critical acclaim “from people who know stuff,” and found success on Christian radio.
“I suspect the fans of my music are mostly shut-ins that surf the web for obscure talent. Just from the internet alone, I have literally tens of fans from all over the world.”
Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Christa resides in Dallas, Texas with 2 perfect children and a collection of sometimes brutal yet always entertaining careers.
